At Potomac Australian Labradoodles, the health and well-being of our dogs are our top priorities. We are committed to breeding the healthiest dogs possible, and that commitment is reflected in our rigorous health and genetic testing practices.
Comprehensive Health Testing
All of our breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), including evaluations for hips, elbows, patellas, eyes, and basic cardiac. In addition, we conduct the full Australian Labradoodle breed panel through Paw Print Genetics to screen for genetic diseases common to the breed.
Exceeding Industry Standards
Many breeders have moved away from testing eyes because it is no longer required by the Australian Labradoodle breed clubs. At Potomac Australian Labradoodles, we believe that thorough health testing is non-negotiable. Our program goes above and beyond industry standards to ensure that our dogs are not only beautiful and well-tempered, but also healthy and free of hereditary conditions.
