Australian Labradoodles: The Ultimate Companion

The Australian Labradoodle is a charming and intelligent breed, beloved for its friendly disposition and allergy-friendly coat. Originally bred in the 1980s in Australia, this breed combines the best traits of the Labrador Retriever, Poodle, and Cocker Spaniel to create a versatile, family-friendly dog. Like some breeds bred for their hunting, protection, or working traits, the Australian Labradoodle is bred as a family companion. The Australian Labradoodle is an ideal choice for those seeking a loyal and loving pet that fits well into a variety of living situations and adapts easily to different lifestyles.

Appearance & Size

Australian Labradoodles come in a variety of sizes, ranging from mini (14 to 16 inches at the shoulder) to medium (17 to 20 inches) and standard (21 to 24 inches). Their coats can be wavy or curly, with a soft texture, and are available in a range of colors including cream, gold, caramel, red, black, chocolate and more! They also come in a range of patterns, including parti, phantom & roan.

Temperament

Known for their gentle and affectionate nature, Australian Labradoodles make excellent companions for families, singles, and seniors alike. They are particularly good with children and other pets. These dogs are highly trainable and eager to please, making them suitable for a variety of roles, including therapy and assistance work.

Health & Lifespan

With a lifespan of approximately 12 to 15 years, Australian Labradoodles are generally healthy dogs. Breeders are committed to maintaining the health of the breed through careful genetic testing and breeding practices, which help to minimize the risk of hereditary conditions.

Care & Grooming

This breed requires regular grooming to maintain their coat’s condition and prevent matting (we recommend a professional groom every 6-8 weeks). Regular exercise is also essential to keep them happy and healthy, as they are an energetic breed that thrives on activity and mental stimulation.
