Adoption

Thank you for your interest in one of our puppies!

Before welcoming one of our puppies into your family, we want to get to know you. We raise only a small number of Australian Labradoodle litters each year, and we believe finding the right home for each puppy is just as important as the care that goes into breeding and raising them.

Our puppies are raised in our home with an incredible amount of time, love, and intention. We work hard to give them the best possible foundation for becoming healthy, confident, well-adjusted family companions, and we feel a responsibility to be equally thoughtful about where they go next. For us, placing a puppy is much more than a transaction.

Getting to know our families also allows us to make thoughtful matches. Every puppy has a unique personality, temperament, and energy level, and the puppy who thrives with an active family may be different from the one best suited to a quieter home or a busy household with young children. There isn't one "best" puppy in a litter-- only puppies who are better suited to different families and lifestyles.

By learning about your household, lifestyle, and hopes for your future dog, and combining that with everything we learn about each puppy during their first 8 weeks, we can make placement decisions with both the puppy and family in mind.

Some of my favorite childhood memories include growing up with my own Australian Labradoodle, and it is incredibly meaningful to now raise puppies who will become part of other families' stories. Our goal is simple: to make matches that feel just as right years from now as they do on go-home day.

Price

The price for each puppy is $3,800, plus 6% Maryland sales tax. To join our waiting list, a $500 reservation fee is necessary. Upon the birth of your puppy, a second payment of $1,650 is required. The final payment of $1,650 plus tax is due when the puppy is 6 weeks old. All of our puppies are sold on a strict spay & neuter contract.

Process

To adopt one of our puppies, begin by submitting an adoption application. Once approved, we'll connect with you to learn more about your family and preferences and discuss which upcoming litters may be a good fit. At that time, you'll be invited to submit a reservation fee to secure your place on our master waiting list. After puppies are born, families are contacted in order to confirm whether they'd like their reservation applied to that litter or prefer to remain on the list for a future one. Litter size and timing can vary, so not every family will be offered a puppy from every litter. Families confirmed on a litter receive weekly updates as the puppies grow. At 6-7 weeks of age, puppies complete a professional temperament evaluation with our trainer, which (along with your preferences) helps us thoughtfully match each puppy to the home best suited to them. Puppies go home at 8 weeks of age. Our goal is always to make the best possible match for both puppy and family. If the timing or fit isn't quite right, reservations may be applied to a future litter.

Bringing Home Puppy

All puppies must be picked up in person at our home just outside of Washington, DC. We do not ship our puppies. If you are flying in and taking your puppy home in-cabin, we are happy to meet you with your puppy at local airports (BWI, DCA & IAD).

If you cannot pick up your puppy in person, we can arrange for delivery (within a 300 mile radius of Washington, DC) or a flight nanny service that can transport your puppy to you anywhere in the world, for an additional fee.

Visitation Policy

For the health, safety, and well-being of our puppies and their moms-- and because we operate our breeding program out of our private home-- we are not able to accommodate general visits. This policy is in place for both biosecurity reasons and the physical safety of our family and dogs.

Families with a confirmed reservation on an upcoming litter will, of course, have the opportunity to visit on puppy pick-up day when their puppy goes home at 8 weeks of age. Until then, we love sharing frequent updates, photos, and videos so you can follow your puppy's journey every step of the way.

Thank you so much for understanding and respecting our approach. We truly appreciate your trust and look forward to welcoming you when the time comes!
